Trackers & Transponders
Tracking Units:
- What are they? Tracking units are used to track your location on the race course and are mandatory for all Two Wheel, Four Wheel and Youth 1000 entries.
- How do I rent one? You must rent your tracking unit directly with RacingTrax prior to the event on this page ahead of the event.
- How much is a rental? Click here.
- How do I get it on my vehicle? Once reserved, RacingTrax will install your tracking unit at the Off-Road Festival / Technical Inspection.
RacingTrax will manage ALL things tracking units including rental fees, security deposits, returns, etc..
Timing & Scoring Transponders:
- What are they? Transponders are used for recording lap times and are mandatory for all classes.
- How do I rent one? You will rent these transponders directly with LiveTime onsite at race registration.
- How much is a rental? $50/event. The Driver/Rider of Record will need to present a credit card at onsite race registration to reserve their transponder directly with LiveTime.
- How do I get it on my vehicle? You are responsible for mounting your transponder to your vehicle prior to your vehicle arriving at Technical Inspection. Transponders will come with two heavy duty zip ties and details on how to properly mount your transponders will be provided to you at onsite registration. LiveTime will be at Technical Inspection, to verify you have mounted your transponder in the correct location.
LiveTime will manage ALL things transponders including rental fees, security deposits, returns, etc..
If you purchased a RaceReady transponder with Best in the Desert in 2025: LiveTime will buy your transponder back in exchange for four (4) free rentals for the 2026 race reason. All you need to do is bring your existing RaceReady transponder to race registration, along with the pouch and other accessories, and they will take it and credit you onsite.
