How do I rent a transponder? AORC will place a $250 hold on the Driver/Rider of Record's UNLTD account on Wednesday of race week. When the transponder is returned onsite, $200 will be refunded, with the remaining $50 covering the transponder rental fee.
Where do I get my transponder? Your transponder will be assigned and distributed during onsite registration. Installation instructions and two heavy-duty zip ties will be provided.
How do I install my transponder? You are responsible for securely mounting your transponder to your vehicle before arriving at Technical Inspection. LiveTime personnel will verify that your transponder is properly installed in the correct location.
How do I return my transponder? Transponders may only be returned to authorized RacingTrax or LiveTime personnel at the finish line. DO NOT hand your transponder to BITD staff, volunteers, other event personnel, or anyone other than an official RacingTrax or LiveTime representative. Returning your transponder to an unauthorized individual does not constitute an official return, and you may be held responsible for the unit.
What if I don't finish the race? If you do not finish the race and are unable to return your transponder onsite, you must ship it to:

Who handles rental fees, security deposits, returns, and late fees?
AORC manages all aspects of transponder rentals, including rental fees, security deposits, refunds, and any applicable late return fees.
Refund amounts are determined by when your transponder is received:
- $200 Refund: Transponders returned onsite during the event.
- $150 Refund: Transponders received by the first Friday following the event.
- $100 Refund: Transponders received by the second Friday following the event.
- $50 Refund: Transponders received by the third Friday following the event.
- $0 Refund: Transponders received after the third Friday following the event.
Important: Refund eligibility is based on the date your transponder is received, not the date it is shipped. We strongly encourage all racers to return their transponders onsite to receive the maximum refund and avoid additional fees.
